I decided that we needed to walk around West 6th Street and check out the galleries. I turn around and Tamara, @davincibox, is hugging the Treaty Oak.

Fingerprints on the East Side
It's worth noting that the Austin Police Department has an interesting sculpture built into their landscape architecture. The home of the department's Forensic Science Division has a fingerprint outside the building, in the grass.
Pretty cool, huh?
The image above is a satellite image from Google Maps. Here are a couple of Google Map street views. It might be kind of fun to drop in (via Google Maps or in person) and check it out for yourself. In case you're interested, the coordinates are 30.259154, -97.699830.
What do you think? Good item to drop into a mystery novel?
East Side Mary
This is The Virgin Mary in her grotto on the East Side of Austin. I feel that she looks sad because she's locked in there, but I'm told that it's for her own good. Apparently not everybody on the East Side respects her the way we do.
