How to be Rather Earnest

Hello, I am Earnest Painter. I am a writer and an artist. My partner and I live in a small town close to Austin, Texas, with ten cats (at last count.) My small adventures include thrift stores, photography, restaurants, chasing gemstones and attending art festivals. Many of our friends are artists and my partner and I have quite a collection.

When writing, most story ideas come from watching people (or cats)—be it in a coffee shop, in a bar or restaurant, or even shopping. I don’t generally eavesdrop; I’d rather not know. It’s easier to let my mind create the stories based on body language and facial expressions. Ideas for artwork come much the same way.
